The Town of Heidelberg is governed by a Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Elections are held every four years, and open board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. No level of government is closer to the people than that represented by our mayors, aldermen, councilmen, and commissioners. Municipal government is truly the people’s government.
I, David Taylor II, was sworn in as Mayor of Heidelberg on June 30, 2021 to serve the term July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2025. As Mayor, I will strive to represent the citizens of Heidelberg and be the voice of the Board of Aldermen.
I am a graduate of Heidelberg High School, Alcorn State University, and William Carey University with degrees in Agricultural Economics (B.S.) and Math Education (M.Ed.). I have been a public school educator for over 14 years and coached the sports of basketball and volleyball. Also, I have served as co-advisor for BETA Club and Student Council.
I am married to Shana Taylor and father to a son, David III, and a daughter, Bella-Marie. I am a life-long member of Greater Beaver Meadow MBC
I have the motto of the 3 P's, "Progress, Professionalism, & Positivity".
I look forward to the beautification, restoration, and progression of our beloved Town of Heidelberg, where we DIG DEEP & LIVE WELL.
